Set User Field

The Task Planner action Set User Field changes one field value on a user account. It can be used after a user trigger or the Users series by keeping the default user ID placeholder, or it can target a fixed user account by entering a user ID.

Options

  • User ID: Enter the ID of the user account to change. The default value is {user.id}, which uses the user account provided by a user trigger or by the Users series.
  • Field: Select the user field that should be changed. The list contains supported editable user fields from the Users and Groups Manager.
  • Value: Enter the new value for the selected field. The visible editor depends on the selected field type: text, multiline text, boolean, number, decimal number, currency, date, time, or select value.
  • Value (key or display text): For select fields, enter either the option key or the displayed option text.

Supported editable user field types are string, multiline text, comma-separated text, string list, boolean, integer, decimal number, currency, select, date, date/time, and time. Task Planner placeholders can be used in the user ID and in text values. The action validates the entered value with the selected user field before the task is saved.

Note: This action changes the user account as the owner of the task. A User Changed trigger in the same task ignores changes caused by this action to avoid direct update loops.
