Approaching Asset Date

The Approaching Asset Date series executes the selected jobs and actions for assets whose selected date field expires within the time period to be selected. If the task is not executed on time, this also includes assets whose date has just expired. Any asset field with a date type can be used as the date field.

The following are available for configuration:

  • Which field: the asset field on which the series is based
  • Where date...: here you can select whether the date of the field should be before, after or between the running date and a number of weeks to be selected so that the asset is included in the series.
  • *Asset Type**: the type of asset for which the series is to be run.

Note: Each asset is only considered once in the series, as long as the date and the task in the task planner remain unchanged.

Example

In the company, computers and software are cataloged using the Inventory application of the INETAPP. The software procurement department should renew a software license before it expires. To achieve this, a task is created with a time trigger that is executed once a week. The task is set up with the series Approaching Asset Date, the Warranty field, and a recurring execution of four weeks for timely notification.

As a job, a Quickticket Software Procurement is created and the name of the software is passed as a parameter.
